Client had created a “bot” for the popular game World of Warcraft. This bot automates game play (basically allowing the user to step away from the computer, while still “playing”).
Client’s first problem was that his main competitor had such a large external link base, it was difficult for him to compete. After doing some competitive research analysis, I discovered that his competitor was using a custom built affiliate program, which allowed him to have a lot of good quality links back to the competitor’s site.
I suggested to the client that he should do the same, allowing his affiliates to do some of the link building work. I created an affiliate package for him (allows for sign up, creating of affiliate links, tracking of affiliates, and automated payout via PayPal).
After six months of SEO work, and with the help of the affiliate system, client achieved #1 in Google for both his targeted keyword phrases.
